Using technology and quality products MCS Inc. can install a new lawn in 3 easy steps. The results are better than typical sodded lawns and are far more sustainable. Our Express Blower® truck allows us to interject grass seed and our all-natural tackifier, Microblend®, throughout a compost mixture suited perfectly for you lawn. This process is called Terraseeding™. The compost layer is an ideal environment for the germination and sustained growth of new grass. The compost increases soil temperatures and water retention while containing all the nutrients that are need for a healthy lawn to grow and thrive. Our 3 step process involves aerating, planting and compacting. With proper irrigation an MCS Inc. lawn will germinate within 4-6 days, in temperatures of 65 degrees and above, and will be ready for play in roughly two weeks. Because these lawns are not sod the rooting systems take hold immediately allowing for better growth, higher drought tolerance, less risk of disease and less thatching.
Typical subdivision lots tend to have sod in the front of the house and seed, straw and tack in the back. Using the Terraseeding™ method of new lawn installation we are able to plant the seed in one step. After the area is aerated the grass seed is planted and our all natural tackifier, Microblend®, is mixed into the compost. This eliminates the need for laying straw then tacking. Microblend® is a proprietary mix that contains several beneficial bacteria and fungus that aid in the development and growth of rooting systems. By creating healthy soil we create a fantastic lawn. By using all-natural products and a schedule of topdressing we can eliminate the use of liquid fertilizers, which reduce lawn health over time.
