By creating healthy soil we can create beautiful lawns. By using all-natural materials we can eliminate the need for chemical fertilizers. These chemical fertilizers end up being more harmful to your lawn over the long run and can be dangerous to children, pets, local water sources, birds and other wildlife.
Good soil is the key to a healthy lawn. Creating an ecosystem within the soil allows for higher organic matter content beneath your grass, and that is where your lawn begins. At MCS Inc. we use Terraseeding™ to create the healthy soil that is needed for sustainable growth. A deep, vigorous rooting system is the best defense against many common lawn problems. Deep roots are able to access water for longer periods of time as well as absorb nutrients from a greater distance. By using synthetic chemical fertilizers you are cheating your lawn out of establishing and using these deep roots. By placing higher than normal amounts of nutrients via chemical fertilizers on the surface you are causing these deep roots to atrophy. A healthy soil lets roots do what they were meant to do. A thick lawn will also keep weeds from grabbing a foot hold. Crowding out their opportunities for germination is the best way to keep them from ever growing in the first place.
