MCS Inc. School Gardening Program: Education Through Experience
MCS Inc. believes that children will learn more if they are in a safe and comfortable environment. Using a garden as an outdoor classroom can have tremendous effects on children and teacher alike. By bringing students into nature they are able to learn lessons in a hands on environment that stimulates all of their senses. Giving students the chance to explore the natural world allows them the opportunity to see things that they may have only ever read about. Flowers, vegetables, soil, insects, colors, smells and textures are all there for them to take in and absorb as they learn valuable lessons across all subjects. MCS Inc. can help you design an outdoor garden using Gardensoxx® which are a completely self-contained garden. There is no maintenance needed when using the Gardensoxx® program, only watering. Eliminate the need to pick weeds and shovel soil. Spend all of your valuable time teaching! MCS Inc. has lesson plans available for all subjects across all grade levels. We work closely with academic professionals to develop programs for teachers that can span several months to an entire year. Our programs use Integrated Learning methods to teach students lessons that not pertain to standardized tests but to life in general. From flower dissection to spelling tests, vegetable production to soil sampling, our program covers it all.
Now you are able to bring the outdoors indoors. We have developed a system for the indoor classroom as well. There is no need to worry about watering your classroom plants over vacations and long weekends. Our system is self-contained and self-watering. All we need is an outlet and you and your class can enjoy an indoor garden full of flowers, herbs or vegetables.
